Glamorous Downtown Chicago Wedding
Let’s talk about how beautiful Chicago weddings are, shall we?! Since moving to the Windy City two years ago, we’ve gotten to experience our share of beautiful big city weddings. With its rich history, world-famous architecture, and gorgeous summer weather, Chicago plays the perfect host to couples wishing to hold glamorous city weddings. Maria and Quin’s wedding is the epitome of a glamorous downtown Chicago wedding featuring the best the city has to offer. From their elegant wedding invitations and reception details to their stunning downtown location, this is one stylish soiree!
After the ceremony (which concluded with bagpipes!), guests retreated to the stunning Chicago Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Located just off the Magnificent Mile, this historic venue boasts a beautiful detailed ceiling and a light up dance floor! Paying homage to the wedding’s location, Maria and Quin chose to name each of their tables after Chicago landmarks. We created hot pink table numbers and escort cards so guests could find their seats, at tables with names such as Wrigley Field and the John Hancock Building. Their invitations set the tone for the entire event. Maria wanted her wedding invitations to have a formal feel; she wanted something that would be classic, yet creative. We ended up creating a stunning invitation in silver thermography. If you’re not familiar with thermography, it is a raised printing style, that has a definite shine to it. We completed her wedding ensemble with a matching silver metallic belly band with the couple’s custom wedding monogram on the seal. When it came time to creating ceremony and reception details, we kept the style much of the same. Accents were simple and elegant, to complement the bright colors she chose for her flowers and decor. Their invitations were the perfect way to set the tone for the couple’s glamorous downtown Chicago wedding!
Their ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Clement Roman Catholic Church in the Lincoln Park neighborhood (just north of the city). The grand architecture style of the church provided a stunning backdrop for their ceremony.
For wedding favors, the couple gave out treats that paid homage to their heritage and host city. To incorporate the bride’s Italian heritage, guests were treated with homemade Limoncello (with custom N&L stickers, of course). Guests also received a box of Godiva chocolate.
In the weeks prior to their wedding, Maria and Quinn took dance lessons. They surprised their wedding guests with putting on quite a show during their first dance!
Guests were treated to a visit at a gelato cart before the night was over, SO neat!!
Congrats to the happy couple!
